SQI to host high school students interested in biotechnology
The Simpson Querrey Institute (SQI) will provide educational tours to groups of high school students on July 2 and July 16 through the National Student Leadership Conference on Biotechnology hosted by Northwestern University.
During two separate nine-day programs, the high-achieving students will visit biotechnology-related facilities around the Chicago area and hear lectures and presentations on the topic. The students’ trips to SQI will include an overview of the Institute, tours of its core facilities and hands-on demonstrations based on SQI research. Attendees will also receive an introduction to 3D printing and other equipment used by SQI researchers and technical staff.
The July visits mark the third year overall and the second consecutive summer in which SQI has hosted groups from the National Student Leadership Conference.
