SQI faculty member Stuart Stock has been honored as a fellow of SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics. Stock is one of 57 SPIE members to be promoted to fellowship status this year.

“Fellows are members of distinction who have made significant scientific and technical contributions in the multidisciplinary fields of optics, photonics, and imaging,” according to an SPIE announcement. “They are honored for their technical achievement and for their service to the general optics community and to SPIE in particular.”

Stock is a Research Professor of Cell and Developmental Biology at Northwestern. He brings his imaging expertise to multiple collaborations with other SQI faculty members, including bone regeneration studies with the laboratory run by Erin and Wellington Hsu.
