CRN: Center for Regenerative Nanomedicine

Nozomu Takata

  • Research Assistant Professor of Medicine
PhD (2009), Osaka University, Japan

Nozomu Takata investigates molecular and cellular processes of organ growth and repair in the central nervous system. He is currently leading the Stupp Laboratory’s efforts to develop organoid models of spinal cord injury using human induced pluripotent stem cells. With an emphasis on regenerative medicine applications, these organoids can be used to evaluate biomaterials that mimic a variety of cell signaling mechanisms present in the natural extracellular matrix. The platform offers great opportunities to accelerate the discovery and development of a broad spectrum of therapeutic strategies to treat spinal cord injuries.

Areas of Interest
